Up for auction is a rare World War One map, distributed compliments of the Regal Shoe Company based in New York City. Called a “Authentic European War Map.” Folded out, measures 15” x 21”. Map encased in a light blue folder with a chart on inside front cover describing “War in Europe and the Shoe and Leather Trade in USA” and shoes how material from both sides in the conflict funds the production of shoes and other footwear. Map is in color and published by the Walker Lith. & Pub. Company of Boston. Map was apparently printed prior to American entry into the conflict, as the U.S. is not listed on a small chart at the bottom as being part of the fight. Although there is no copyright date, I would place this as being published in 1915 or 1916. Some of the maps folds are separating, but still largely intact. Some smudging to folder. Very rare.
