1856 Map
Up for bids is this genuine antique maps of "Tobago and Barbados." Excellent period detail of the areas, this map comes from a scarce 1856 reference volume, "A Cyclopedia of Missions," by Rev. Harvey Newcomb.
This is an excellent antique map...two maps on one sheet...Tobago, a British colony but not yet a ward of Trinidad...and Barbados, a British colony. Black and white with light green color to the water areas. Features many Mission Stations with founding dates. Place- names and spellings were provided to Rev. Newcomb by missionaries in the field.
Dimensions of the map in inches is about 7.75 by 5...total sheet is 9" by 5.5". Map is on heavy paper, blank on the backside. Very good condition with light age-toning to the paper.
