The print is a steel engraving printed in 1876. The sheet measures 9 1/2 X 6 inches and is in good condition aside from light age toning. The image is titled "Mexican Antiquities. Native Architectural Remains in Yucatan." It is inscribed "F. Catherwood. W. Forest. Blackie Son, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London." [These are the names of the artist, the engraver and the publishers.] The print comes from "The Popular Encyclopedia; or Conversations Lexicon" published by Blackie Son in London [etc] in 1876. There is nothing printed on the reverse side. The print is shown on a black background in order to show the entire sheet. This is an antique print guaranteed to be over 100 years old.
