The item you're looking at, is antique Art Nouveau double light switch plate/cover.I'm not sure what type of metal is, looks brass on the backside and the front shows traces of brass but is dark gray. The back has raised manufacture name,EDMAR. Plate measures 43/4in. x 4 1/2in. Thanks for looking, info and ?'s welcome .
